Incoming 6th Grade Information

Dear parents of incoming 6th graders:

The following is a copy of an email that was sent to all 5th grade families that are thinking about coming to Preston for the 2020 - 2021 school year.  Please know that every attempt will be made to reschedule our Instrument Placement nights.  These nights are so important for our students and families to make informed and knowledgeable choices regarding instruments.

RE:     5th Grade Band and Orchestra Instrument Try-out nights 

Dear PSD families of 5th-grade future Pumas,

Welcome to the Preston band OR orchestra program! We can’t wait to get you involved in our performing ensembles at Preston STEM Middle School next year! We want to provide you with an update regarding our instrument try-out events that are normally held at the end of March/first of April. 

Due to PSD’s suspending all activities and events after school, we must postpone our previously scheduled instrument try-out nights. When we have more clarity as to when we will be allowed to host such events, we will send out notifications through regular mail OR email with our newly rescheduled dates. 

After March 29th, please check the band or orchestra website for more updates.

Choir:  If your student has chosen choir, the necessary steps are completed.  You may disregard this message. However, if your child is still undecided about their music choice, these emails may be of interest to you.
