Friday, October 11 – SOFA (Symphonic Orchestra Friday Activity)

This event is for the Symphonic Orchestra and will be held at Kinard Middle School from 3- 9 p.m.  More information coming soon!  Students will be coming home with a SOFA flyer the week of September 23!

Wednesday, October 23 - Advanced Groups Concert

Concert is for Symphonic Orchestra,  Symphonic Band, and Select Choir at 7:00 p.m. in the Preston gymnasium.  Call time for students is at 6:00 p.m.

Friday, October 25 – Nordic Festival

This Festival is for the Symphonic Orchestra.  Students perform during the day for judges and will be assessed based upon their performance.  This is a day event and students ride a bus to Lesher Middle School for the Festival.  Parents are welcome to come and hear our performance at Lesher MS.  Time of performance will be added when known.

Tuesday, December 10 – All Orchestras Concert

Concert is at 7:30 p.m. and is for all Preston Orchestras.  Call time for students will be 6:30 p.m., so that we can tune, etc., prior to the concert.  This concert may also require an extra afternoon or evening rehearsal that may be required of all students.

Tuesday, March 3 – ASTA Festival

This event is for Symphonic Orchestra.  It will be held at FCHS.  This is a day event and students will meet at Fort Collins High School to perform and be assessed by a judge and will ride a bus back to Preston.  More information will be shared in class as well as on their field trip form.  This event may require an extra after-school rehearsal for all students that can also serve as an opportunity for parents to come hear us rehearse.

Tuesday, March 10 – STRINGATHON

Concert is at 7:00 p.m. and is for all Preston Orchestras.  Since this involves a lot of students, call time for students will be 6:00 p.m. so that we can tune, etc. prior to the concert.  Our required rehearsal is set for Tuesday, March 9 from 2:45 – 4:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.  All students are required to attend, play through the levels that they are able to play and then are allowed to leave the rehearsal.  Students will need to plan their rides accordingly based on this information.

Thursday, April 16 – Just Jazz Desserts Concert/Fundraiser

This event is for Preston Jazz groups – Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Band, and Jazz Choir.  More information will be available prior to the event.  This event is a Fundraiser for our jazz groups.  We encourage anyone to attend and hear our jazz groups play!

Friday, April 24 – Preston Jazz Orchestra @ UNC Jazz Festival

This event is for all students who are a part of the Jazz Orchestra here at Preston.  More information regarding this group can be found under the tab “Orchestras” on the Preston Orchestras website.

 

Thursday, April 30 – Honor Groups Concert

This event will be held at FRHS.  The orchestra dress rehearsal on this day is 10:30 – 1:30 p.m.  The evening concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at FRHS. Audition information for this event will be handed out in late December or early January.  This event is open to all 7th and 8th grade music students in a performing ensemble.  Students are required to prepare music to audition for these groups.

Wednesday, May 6 – Advanced Groups Concert

Concert is for all Advanced Groups – Symphonic Orchestra, Symphonic Band and Select Choir.  Choir concert will be the early concert time which is at 6:15 pm.  Band and Orchestra Concert begins at 7:30 p.m.  Call time is 6:40 p.m.  This event will be held at Fort Collins High School.  Our last concert of the year!

Thursday, May 14 – Beginning Groups Concert

Concert is for all Beginning Groups – Beginning Orchestra, Beginning Band, and Apprentice Choir.  Band concert begins at 5:30 p.m.  Orchestra and Apprentice Choir concert begins at 6:15 p.m.  Call time for orchestra is 5:45. We will have a combined dress rehearsal for this concert – date and time TBD.

Concert is for Concert Orchestra and Concert Band.  Call time is 6:45 p.m.  Concert starts at 7:30 p.m.  This event will be held at Preston in the gymnasium.  Our last concert of the year!
